The Suk Trio was a Czech piano trio founded in 1951 and disbanded in 1990. They made their debut on March 5 at the Rudolfinum Hall in Prague with Josef Suk (violin), Jiří Hubička (piano) and Saša Večtomov (cello). The permanent member of the ensemble was Josef Suk, the grandson of the composer and name sake of the ensemble.

 Charmian Gadd :

The Australian violinist Charmian Gadd returned to Australia in 1988 after spending twenty-three years in the America and Europe. Her international career has included solo performances with many of the world’s finest orchestras, chamber music appearances and professorships at two American universities. Her principal teachers were Richard Goldner, Josef Gingold, Henryk Szeryng and Janos Starker. She holds Diplomas of Honour from both the Tchaikovsky and Sibelius Competitions and was a prizewinner in international violin competitions in Vienna and Philadelphia. In 1988, Gadd became Head of the String Department at the Canberra School of Music and is currently Professor of Violin at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

Yizhak Schotten :

Israeli-born violist Yizhak Schotten was discovered and brought to the United States by the renowned violist William Primrose, with whom he studied at Indiana University and the University of Southern California. Other studies were with Lillian Fuchs at the Manhattan School of Music. A feature article about Yizhak Schotten in STRAD Magazine called him "one of America's finest viola players... a leading light of the U.S. viola establishment." His solo appearances with orchestras in this country and abroad have included performances with conductors Seiji Ozawa, Thomas Schippers, Sergiu Commissiona, Joseph Swensen, Arthur Fiedler and others. He has concertized in Israel, Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia, Holland, Austria, Mexico, England, Canada and throughout the United States. His solo recitals have included Town Hall, Carnegie Hall, and Merkin Hall in New York, Boston's Jordan Hall, the Phillips Collection in Washington, D.C., the Dame Myra Hess Series in Chicago, and the Cleveland Museum of Art, among others.

這是近期聽到很滿意的佳片，會買是看到都是像 俄羅斯鋼琴女傑妮可萊耶娃 ( Nikolayeva ) 等 6大當代女鋼琴家演奏會實況，一聽後才知得寶。本LP片長60多分鐘，每人僅得10分左右，所以全部是短曲而已。

第一位是被譽為「拿坡里的霍洛維茲」的 Maria Tipo，她的第一張唱片是1955年錄製的12首 Scarlatti奏鳴曲的唱片，被 News-Week 雜誌譽為今年最壯觀的唱片 。本唱片也是 Scarlatti 奏鳴曲，經過歲月後更是千錘百煉，依然保留優美又輪廓鮮明的風格。也難怪如今樂友仍將其唱片視為珍寶持續追尋。

俄羅斯鋼琴第一夫人 Nikolayeva 以 巴哈 , 蕭士塔高維契 為舉世推祟，樂友大都有她的 蕭士塔高維契24首前奏曲與賦格 Op. 87 ( 這本是蕭氐 提獻給她 ) 二次錄音 ( Melodiya , Hyperion )，這裡驚喜是 舒曼 的三首短曲更令人期待。Nikolayeva 觸鍵淡雅，展現 舒曼 特有蠱惑本質，不著痕跡就把人推入情感的迷霧中。功夫爐火純青令人欲罷不能，不禁得正襟端坐起來重聽一次。

聽音樂當然會喜歡長大刺激的名曲。只是，總不能今天柴可 1，明天拉赫 3，胃口有那麼大嗎？還不如這些珠玉小品來得洽到好處，可長可久。當 聖桑 這首光輝的  觸技練習曲 ( etude toccata nach dem konzert für klavier und orgel nr.5 )在 歐絲特 Cécile Ousset 作出極精彩的結局時，心中充滿著幸福的飽足感。
