美國新古典主義作曲家哈羅德‧夏皮洛（Harold Shapero）於美國時間5月17日，因肺炎病逝於美國麻州（Massachusetts）的家中，享壽93歲。夏皮洛1920年出生於美國麻州，畢業於哈佛大學，自1951年開始任教於美國布蘭德斯大學（Brandeis University），教授音樂理論與作曲超過三十年。
